RAM Engineering & Construction, Inc. is a complete
commercial site development contractor. Work that RAM
performs includes demolition, earth excavation, storm
& sanitary installation, piling installation, tie-back
anchors, site grading, and much more. However, RAM’s
expertise is in difficult deep-sheeted excavations that
require Earth Retention Systems (ERS).
RAM
is a third generation; family owned and operated company
celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2010. The roots
of the company can be traced even farther back, to
C & C Excavators founded by W.W. Chilton in 1945.
Today, RAM is run by brothers Richard and Mark Chilton,
along with their nephew, W.W. Chilton III. The three
have a combined 120 plus years of experience in the
industry. The RAM ‘family’ prides itself
on completing projects that are often looked over
by other contractors that are leery of the associated
risks. These are exactly the projects where RAM excels.
RAM
currently performs the bulk of their work in Kentucky
and Indiana, but does travel to other surrounding
locations. Recent clients include the University of
Louisville, the University of Kentucky, North American
Stainless, Walmart, The Home Depot, Lowe’s,
the Louisville Water Company, and others. Some of
the larger projects RAM has worked on include Papa
John’s Cardinal Stadium (Louisville, KY), Baptist
Hospital East (Louisville, KY), Carmel Arts District
Lofts (Carmel, IN), U of L Cardinal Park (Louisville,
KY), Churchill Downs Renovation (Louisville, KY),
U of K Memorial Coliseum Expansion (Lexington, KY),
Marriott Downtown (Louisville, KY), and several projects
